THIERY == ETO+17 MIL

It seems Barcelona are offering Arsenal £17m + Samuel Eto’o for Thierry Henry. I am delightedto say the least. What an offer. With all due respect to TH14, anyone would be a fool to miss this offer by. on the other hand henry should be proud that he is valued at around 40m. What a load of bollocks.

Another important talk is about the TIMES statistical analysis about the players in the EPL. guess who made it into the top ten according to that? You couldn't have guessed it, namma very own ALEXANDER HLEB. yes yes, i know what even many of you arsenal fans will be saying. But even though statistics can be used to prove anything and many times a not so accurate description of the player; it does bring into perspective the amount of criticism hleb has been brought under. he is being pinned up for most of our failures, while anybody would agree that he hasn't been that great post PSV and BLACBURN the word to use here is PATIENCE. maybe Axle rose understood it better when he said "All we need is a little bit of patience". let us give some time to this lad and let us not forget arsene rates this guy very highly. i also think he is more of a confidence player. he somehow needs to get back his confidence, and right now the fans are in no way helping that front. camaan get your arses behind this lad.

Here is a very nice compilation of hleb's performance this season. http://www.dailymotion.com/abdleb/video/x24dhg_hleb-under-rated-prodigy. do check it out.

Until next time then Au revoir.

Please go & buy a couple of wingers this summer Arsene

Despite what anyone says, this has been the most disastrous season for me as an arsenal fan. Some people have ponited out that until the carling cup final things were positive for us, that we were being touted as the next big thing. Very True, even i was impressed {everyone had to be} at the way the 'young guns' were performing. But how many of us really thought that we could get something out of this season. The problem with this team, as has been indicated umpteen times, is consistency and that showed up very early in the season. So the premiership was out of the way. The same inconsistency showed up at the carling cup final, we were great in the first half This is what we missed this season
but lack of experience got to us in the second half.

The FA cup match against blackburn was one of the most nerve wracking performance by an arsenal team. Sure they parked a BUS in front of goal, but is that reason enough to lose against a mnediocre team over two legs. I definitely don't think so. No the loss was all down to the teams insipid performance. The only 'non footballing reason' that affected us this season was when we were thrown out of the CL. It was during that match against PSV that strange forces conjured up against us. My stomach still curls up at the notion of being beaten by PSV.

So at the end of a season, that arseblog rates C+, we are again ruing missed chances and looking at FUTURE prospects for a championship team. I am too tired to talk about the FUTURE prospect of this team, don't get me wrong here i totally appreciate what the young fellas have done, but as a team we need to start looking at players who can collectively win us the championship. I am not going to reviewthe players performance here, That has been done by arseblog quite extensively here -> http://arseblog.com/columns/2007/05/16/arseblog-review-of-the-season-06-07/. But i would nyways like to add this comment i found at the forums "Please go & buy a couple of wingers this summer Arsene with whatever meagre funds you have available along with anything the sales of Almunia, Gilbert, Flamini, Song, Reyes, Ljungberg & Aliadiere might bring in." I think it is a serious concern. We don' have a left winger at present and the only right winger we have is Ljumberg. Irrespective of whether ljumberg stays or otherwise we need two 'world-class' wingers, and by world-class i mean players who have performed at the highest level. Ribery would fit this situation best. It makes it easier for us that neither MANU nor cuntski are going to be in the frame, and of course he is french. The other winger i have no idea. some are suggesting malouda, but i really don't see how he fits the bill. Whoever comes, arsene has to make sure he doesn't put another talented MF into a wide position. Sometimes we play so narrow that it is easy for teams to defend. I really don't see the manager buying two wingers {even though we need them} but considering he buys ribery this would be my idela lineup for next season
Lehman

Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy

Gilberto

Diaby/Rosicky Fabregas Ribery

Henry RVP

OR
we could go for a 4-3-3[i know, i know... read on]

Lehman

Eboue Toure Gallas Clichy

Gilberto

Fabregas Diaby

Rosicky

Henry RVP

[Milanisque u might say, but rosicky will be beautifull in that hole]

Any which way we definitely need a winger and a striker. yes a striker. henry is no more the 30 goal a season machine and van persie has had injuried in the last two seasons what is to prevent him from having one again. So we might, at some stage of the season,be left adebayor[feb then we lose him to african cup of nations] and bentnder. I love adebayor for his workrate but he needs to have a better conversion ratio for a striker and bentnder, lets say we don't need to take any risks by depending on him. Considering that the biggest letdown for us this season has been our finishing, we need to have one more consistent striker. Eto',tevez, etc.. are out of the question but Klose is one striker we could have, considering that he can be snapped up for about 7mil it will be ideal for us. another striker that was mentoned in the forums is Javier Saviola, a decent enough striker who is free at the EOS.

So "A frustrating season on many levels, however laced with potential and promise for the next." is the quote i will use to end this post.
PS: Hoping we will not be repeating the words "potential" for very long.

There is still lot to 'HOPE'; After all we are ARSENAL

We are out of both cup competitions and we may be out of the CL by the end of the week. This is supposed to be disastrous, right? After all we are arsenal, the club that is expected to win at least one trophy every year. But think of it this way, apart from EPL what have we really lost this season? NOTHING. winning the carling cup would not have made this season less "disastrous". In fact we were responsible for injecting some interest into such a farcial cup competition. And how did we do it, not by giving the competition more importance, not by putting in the big guns just to go after the trophy, but by exposing the talent pool that we have. I know this is a cliched line but we have the best second team in the whole of f***ing Europe. We are at a point where the second team can integrate with the first team without much ado. We now have a second team that can sink 6 past liverpool at anfield. Isn't that good, isn't that bloody excellent?

How many of us expected arsenal to be serious title contenders at the last quarter of the season. I definitely didn't. This was the season we moved into a new stadium, the season that we were supposed to be coping with the loss of experience. No matter who comes in, replacing LeBOB or the flying Dutchman is impossible. The run to the final last year was amazing, we would have won the damn thing if it wasn't for some pussy ass refereeing, but we are still the transition side moving into a new stadium. I always thought that we needed 2 years after the new stadium to become champions. But seeing this lot of youngsters, i feel we can realistically go for the title next season itself. One of the major reasons for that is the amount of experience we got into our so called teenagers. Cesc scuffing over lampard was a sight to behold. With this lot i see why we can't go for a purposeful challenge of the title.

There are some things that need to be addressed though. Top of that is a goalkeeper. If the legendary Jens decides to switch, i can't see Almunia in as first choice. We need another wide player to help the rotation of Hleb and Rosicky. Aliadiere might be an option to play wide, but i don't know if he will stick around. Bendtner is also coming back, so it will be interesting to see where he slots in. Then we have the beast, with his consistency as good as a sine wave, the boss has a big headache before him. I like both of them but can't see both staying as well. If Adabeyor. VP and TH stay fit there is no place for these two. I reckon Baptista will stay, for he might bring some beastly beauty into arsenals play!

Before i forget, how can you not trust Arsene. I mean who would do a better job without a chequebook? After Hose's histrionics about being the greater manager and the part about chelski's youth system i can see where he is coming from.

So don't worry my fellow arses, for the strom shall blow over thy club and we shall see a bunch of marauding warriors emerge like never before conquering all in their path. Brilliant Just BRILLIANT! PS: I wanted the last line to be "Nothing more pleasing than coming up trumps in the face of adversity", but i thought let me put something here that is totally un-arse.

arsene arsene arsene

really a very interesting article. --->
But i have to contend with one point; that arsenal can't play beautifull football and not GRIND out results. We need a few players to stand up and be counted and actually make results happen. Because i trully believe that what we are lacking this season is in fron of goal. Henry's performance is really magnified in this situation; when he doesn't fire the team does look lost within the 18 yard box.
That is also one reason i am reiterating the point that we need to go back to 4-4-2, we need to go back to the systemt that suits our best player the best and that is 4-4-2. We can always resort to 4-5-1 in case of tougher opposition away from home. Last season the defence was very tight in th CL; but henry had an amazing run through all those games which helped us "SCORE". According to me we have 2 outstanding strikers and they need to find the back of the net and soon. You can visit

One game and we can win the championship

The only only good game we had this season and the only positive result of the season, but the feeling all around is that we are now capable of winning the championship. well thats the way it goes, but i have to say, i love this feeling. no matter how many points we are behind united, the reality of beating them at old trafford is just amazing. I know arse blogs all around have poured accolades on the team, but i just can't stay mum. i just love the lads.

For once hleb looked like he was capable of winning the game for us, adebayor for once jnew where to run with the ball, not just looking for layoffs. The defense was solid enough and manure's midfield were hopeless against our packed midfield[what with O'shea in it] and there is only one arse who can give the perfect pass in the box surrounded by lunging defenses. though cesc had a mediocre game the pass was worth the game for me. and now for the craziest of them all. I am just out of words to describe someone who had his head bowlderised and still got up and started fuming at the opposition. i was worried in the beginning when lehman had that shot from ronaldo, but all tuned out to thin air once i saw him up to his old trick against O'Shea and what a save he made from ole. Maybe this was just the kickstart we need. This might turn out be equivalent to the madrid game we had last season. In which case, title here we come. Well if protsmoth are top of the table then anything is posssible.

The last we will see of sir DENNIS

So today is where arsenal really are after 11 years.

11 years it took to move from another club in the primiership to one of the top clubs n europe. The catalyst for this move; an inspirational figure from netherlands who choose arsenal, after having an unsuccesfull stint in italy, over all the other top european clubs.

THANK YOU DENNIS

Thank you for all the wonderfull moments you gave us as an arsenal player, Thank you for all the support you gave to arsenal FC and Thank you for being an inspiration on and off the field. It really brings a glorious carreer to an end. There are a lot of things that we will miss after he is gone, The trademark curlures, the almost telepathic partneship he had with all the other players and most of all the way he lead by example both on and off the field. you really had to give credit to the guy for conducting himself, no late parties, no drunken brawls and no back room s***. He is most definitely an example for all the other footballers out there, being among the top 10 richest footballers even with an average salary is testimony to that. One last *cheer* to the arsenal legend!

A Spectacular end to the spectacular show in a spectacular fashion

The world cup ends in the most spectacular of ways[not in footballing terms though], and the ZiZou saga continues, and i guess it won't settle for a long time, what with all the expert lip readers that are surfacing out. I won't add to much of the mayhem though, but i have to say i am tempted to say "i said so" about france going all the way. It might have very well been true on another day. You might sit and aargue upon the point that the best team in the competition won, Italy did not show any weakness throughout the tournament, but i would still like to see football winning rather than a set of farts sitting on their arse and kicking everything thrown at them. True, cannavaro was brilliant at the back, but i would want italy for once to produce have that quality up front. Because at the end of the day u will still enjoy Klose scoring brilliant goals than to see ugly, but brilliant, tackling at the back. Well at the end of it all there is no news bout the most talked about team at the start of the tournament, looks like brazil are the ones who have a set of old farts. Another nation that failed to deceive ??wah?? was england. THE most boring footballing unit in the hisoty of the game. And why is TH14 getting so much sympathy all of a sudden. true he played well, producing some moments of brilliance and he finally came good in the french unit. But i still dont understand why all the arsenal fans are moaning about him playing alone up front, for craps sake he has played in that position throughout the CL. I think he was just tired and couldn;t get his Vrooom back. He better get used the 4-5-1 cause we have to a lot of him in that situation, albeit in arsenals new kit. Well check out the new kit here:

Is this the beginning of th end?

For the first time since a decade sp*rs are ahead of the gunners in the league, at the end of the season, are playing better football and also look set to take on europe. They might well have won the game at highbury(yes, something that seemed impossible 2 years ago), and ended the glorious years for arsenal at highbury in dismay, but for their talismanic captain HENRY. aresene rested half of the main squad (if you do't consider the disapproportion of TH14), keeping in mind the semi final clash in spain in midweek, and well may have paved the way for sp*rs 4TH place finish. you can't really blame the boss for dropping his most impressive players this season onto the bench. A person not lacking in understanding the passions of the game, wengner must be credited for appreciating the magnitude of the villareal game. But for a game that would decide arsenal's future, he should have gone for the safer bet. Looking ahead to fight for the uefa cup, with their captain defending the title in europe with barcelona, is not what the arsenal faithful would hope for. Even if the villareal game ends in favour of the gunners, going on to take on barca would be too much to hope for. Looking back in the future the gunners would probably look at this match as the turning point , but more than robbie keane's goal it was the lack of them at portsmoth, bolton, newcastle, westham...... that has resulted in them being in such a precarious situation. At this moment hoping for sp*rs to slip up or winning the title at paris, against the best team in the world, is all the arsenal faithful have to cling on to. And about the goal: you can call them cheaters, but it puts them and the squirrell into the champions league and gunners rubbing their arses.

829 MINUTES and counting

So this was it.........The final champions league game at highbury, and quite fitting it was.The final European game at Highbury was always going to be a special occasion and last night featured a pitch-invading squirrel, Spanish play-acting, a rare Kolo Toure strike, Gilberto Silva's inspirational display , The captains definitive cutbacks and the thrilling reality that Arsenal have taken a significant step towards the climax of the Champions League in Paris on May 17.Arsenal would have taken a 1-0 victory gladly before the match, but after the performance last night they would be ruing their chances and cursing their bad luck.Arsenal deservedly went ahead through KOLO toure[his first goal this season] after bombarding the visitors goal post for the first 40 minutes. We stamped our authority right from the beginning of this emotionally charged night, and ended the night with our noses in front but still left ruing our missed chances[and the referees incompetence].After seeing the first half you definitely expected more action, and much of it was on display albeit of a different kind. The fallacy with which villareal played the second half raises questions as to how they could make it so far.the visitors were more than happy to keep the margin of defeat small instea of taking the game to arsenal, and this is what might let their fans down. Whichever team u support, you would like to see the players take the game to the opposition, than being involved in play-acting.Much superior throught the game than the boorish villareal, we would have prefferd to take a much larger advantage to El Madrigal. But as TH14 said at the end of the game, its better to take a 1-0 lead away from home than 2-1.You can be sure of one thing though, they won't be playing as cynical at home.Hoping that the back 4 can go all the way to paris, that would be an awesome 10000 minutes of not conceding a goal.Until the next time then[to talk abt the last greatest primiership home game at highbury]. PS: It would just have been perfect if DB had prodded in TH crosspost header in the final minutes of the game.

the magic in europe

*boik* MADRID 0-1 ARSENAL. *boik* what a night.i am still not able to come to terms with myself or the performance of the team. one of the greatest wins, if not THE greatest, for us in europe.and to come at a time when there are so many peopl on our backs is truly amazing. It was a perfect performance from all the players, but more importantly it was the perfection with which the team played that is awesome.just AWESOME. and the 'king' scored the goal of the season, reducing the galacticos to a very very meagre team. it was worth the night out, even though i was seen dozing off at my desk by the boss. But hell, what does he know how it feels to conquer europe. I am counting the 15 days off my fingers......... gooooooooooooooners.
